Wilfred Lavallee, age 91, passed away on Mon., Dec. 21, 2015 at Wingate of Wilbraham. He was born on May 23, 1924 in Chicopee. He was a son of the late Adelard and Nolia (Perreault) Lavallee. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and was involved in the Iwo Jima Invasion. He worked as a butcher for the former Flebottes Market and also for Bertera Market in Springfield for many years. He also worked as a security guard at Baystate Medical Center after he retired. He is predeceased by his wife Thelma (Savoit) Lavallee. He leaves 2 sons, Roger Lavallee and his wife Cathleen of Windsor, CT and Gerald Lavallee and his wife Barbara of Belchertown; his brother Roland Lavallee of Chicopee; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Wed. Dec. 23, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home.
