Marie I. (Jean) Waite, 89, of Tiverton, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at home. She was the wife of the late I. Wallace Waite, they were married for 40 years.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Barnaby and Marie (Mercier) Jean, she had resided in Tiverton for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she was co-owner of the former Norma & Marie’s Beauty Salon in Fall River. Marie was endeared by everyone for always being compassionate, loving and considerate to all who knew her. Marie had many talents and always enjoyed sharing them and teaching others. The degree to which she touched other’s lives and the difference she made is immeasurable. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her children: Deborah (Almy) Manchester, Bryan Waite, and Calvin Waite; step-son: John Waite; 4 grandchildren: Shelly Eckert, Jennifer Eckert, John Waite and Elizabeth Waite; 7 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Rose Smith, Laurna Sellers, Alice Henry, Margaret Grinell, Marie L. Brady, Alfred, Homer, Philip, Henry, Earnest, and William Jean.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-7 P.M.
Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton.
