Obituary

Steven E. Poirier, beloved "Pops" 57, formerly of Hanson, passed away in his Bridgewater home with his treasured wife Deb (Hansen) Poirier, owner of Deb's Barber Shop in Bryantville and family around him on December 20, 2015. Born in Malden, and raised in Billerica, he was the son of Arthur and Joan Poirier of Providence. Loving brother to Deb Poirier of Attleboro, and late brother Bill Poirier of Burlington. He was the loving father to his only son Steven E. Poirier II and his wife Jen of Carver. He also leaves behind his wife's children, Jay Cummings of Pembroke and Lyndsay Lee of Plympton and her husband Peter Lee. He also leaves his niece Ashly Bemis of Canada. Steve is also survived by three blessings of grandchildren, Valerie Poirier, Matthew and Christopher Lee. He leaves behind great friends the Villa family and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In 1976 he enlisted into the Coast Guard for six years. Steve and his BFF wife Deb shared many years of "STEBS" great adventures. From let's have a chicken farm, being long time members of the traveling " National Flag Memorial" where they were a part of the opening and closing flag ceremony to several Nascar Races, participating in local charity motorcycle runs, fishing trips in the lil' boat, catching the "BIG" one with Dennis, Championship Parades, and many road trips. Together he and Deb moved and remodeled two barber shops, they enjoyed gardening and maintaining and building a beautiful home and becoming Grandpa and Grandma, which was the best medicine they could dream of. Visiting hours will be held Monday, December 28 at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St.(Rt.106) Kingston, from 2:00 to 8:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 29, at 10:00AM. Internment will follow at Central Cemetery in Halifax.
