Howard Maxwell Reese, 80, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died December 20, 2015, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Ronald Reese officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Reese was born April 24, 1935, in Calhoun, Georgia, to the late Ronald Vernon and Vera Martin Reese. He lived in the community for over fifty years and loved to tell jokes. His sense of humor always kept everyone laughing. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years: Sue Taft Reese of Fitzgerald; children: Shannon Sheffield Duckworth of Fitzgerald, Janet R. Sheppard & Steven of Fitzgerald, Leslie H. Reese & Sam of Americus and Tony Reese & fiancé` Gayle Hawthorne of Fitzgerald; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers: Vernon Reese & Mavis of Fitzgerald, Lamar Reese of California and Douglas Reese of Fitzgerald. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; two brothers, one sister and one great-grandchild.
