Joseph G. DeGloria passed away at the Lifecare Center Nursing Home on December 19, 2015. He was 78 years old.
Joe was a lifelong resident of Malden. He worked for many years at Converse Rubber Factory and then worked for the City of Malden in the treasurer’s office. After that Joe worked for Pierce Leahy Business. Joe was a member of the Irish American Club, the East Side Athletic Association, and was a coach for Malden Pop Warner Football and Malden Little League Baseball.
Joseph was the devoted husband of the late Joan (Fitzpatrick) DeGloria. He was the beloved father of Denise Pomponi and her husband Larry of North Billerica, Darlene O’Hearn and her husband Michael of Wakefield, Joseph DeGloria and his wife Paula of Chelmsford, and Diane Melkonian and her husband Jesse of Nottingham, NH. Joseph was the cherished grandfather of Matthew and Gina Pomponi, Anthony Memmolo, Alison and Daniel DeGloria, and Chase Melkonian. He is also survived by dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and his longtime companion Diane Lombardi of Chelmsford.
A graveside service will be held at Pine Ridge Cemetery, 130 Billerica Road, Chelmsford on Wednesday December 23rd at 10:00a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday December 22nd from 4-7p.m.
