James P. Young, 68 of Franklin, formerly of West Roxbury, died Friday, December 18, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Karen (Morini) Young.
Born in Boston on April 17, 1947, he was the son of the late Patrick and Alma (Aries) Young. James grew up in West Roxbury and was a resident of Franklin for the past 31 years.
Mr. Young owned his own business as a Painter and Paper hanger and was well known in the Boston area for his integrity and craftsmanship.
James was a proud veteran and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and boating.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Jacqueline Keeley and her husband Daniel of Sanford, FL, Paul Young of Milford and his Fiancé Beth Grinley of West Roxbury, and Jennifer Peluso and her husband Robert of Franklin as well as his six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers John, Joseph, and Jeffrey Young and his sisters Patricia Young and Barbara Donnelly as well as several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 23 at 9:15am from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St., Franklin followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Church Square, Franklin at 10:00am.
Burial with military honors will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
