Dorothy (Field) Dennis, 95, of Little Compton died Friday, December 18, 2015 at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay, Tiverton. She was wife of the late William "Bunny" Dennis.
Born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Joseph and Louella (Wilbur) Field, she had lived in Little Compton for most of her life. Prior to retirement, she worked for Naval Underwater Systems Center in Newport, RI and also for Little Compton Nursing Association as a part time health aide. She was a member of the Little Compton United Congregational Church where she was also active in their thrift shop. Mrs. Dennis was a member of the Little Compton Community Club, Womens Club of Newport County and was active in the American Legion Post of Little Compton. She enjoyed playing bridge, but most of all she loved her family and friends.
Survivors include a son: William B. Dennis, III of TX; 2 daughters: Carol A. Dennis of Westport and Linda Theriault and her husband Fred of Portsmouth, RI; 5 granddaughters; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Donald, Raymond and Albert Field.
