Mrs. Isabella “Izzy” Aguilar Bryan Seale died peacefully in her home on November 25, 2015 in Santa Paula, CA at the age of 75.
Isabel is survived by her husband, Steve Seale; children, Lesia Ullman (Mark), Amanda Young (Mike), and Anthony Aguilar; siblings, Gloria Smith of Paso Robles, Dolores Schwaubauer of Millville, Teresa Williams (Mike) of Moorpark, and Marlene Aguilar of Oxnard.
Isabel was born on June 16, 1940 in Oxnard, CA to Anthony and Dolores Aguilar. She graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1958. Isabel began working for the State of California as a Psychiatric Technician and served her career at Camarillo and Atascadero State Hospitals of 25 years.
She also serves as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Reserve. Her children remember her as a role model of independence, having raised her children to their adulthood as a single mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Isabel was an accomplished artist, operating an art studio at Atascadero State Hospital and often entering her work in the Ventura County and California Mid-State Fairs. She was a humorous individual who loved adventure and who was passionate about travel. She loved to dance and encouraged others to live out their dreams.
A memorial Luncheon of Isabel’s life is scheduled for January 23, 2016. A private burial will be held at Ivy Lawn cemetery.
