Robert J. Gouveia, age 67, of Fall River, passed away after a long illness surrounded by his loving family at Brigham & Womens Hospital on December 18, 2015. He was the devoted husband to Diane (Cabral) Gouveia. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Pelletier) Gouveia and step-son to Julia Gouveia. Robert was a member and past President of the Fall River Bowling Green Fishing Club for over 25 years. He was a fisherman and enjoyed pleasure boating. He especially enjoyed boating to Cuttyhunk Island with his wife. Robert worked as a master technician for over 48 years and was a graduate of Diman Regional Vocational High School.
Along with his wife and step-mother he leaves behind a son, Jaime Robert Gouveia of Dover, NH and granddaughter Olivia Dianne Gouveia. He is also survived by many nieces and newphews and many great-nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Holy Trinity Church at 10 A.M.
