Ethelene Newell Tucker, 86, of Thomasville passed away Friday, December 18, 2015, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Tucker at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Rev. Rickey Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 20, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 6, 1929 in Marion County, Alabama, Mrs. Tucker was the daughter of the late Seth Newell and Mary York Newell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Julius Hubert Tucker; one brother; and five sisters. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed quilting, reading, cooking and taking care of her family. She also loved her cats, Oscar, Custer and Oreo.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by her children and their spouses, Randy and Linda Tucker of Thomasville, Carlton and Faye Tucker of Clute, Texas, Dianne Gregory of Moultrie, Wayne and Susan Tucker of Silver Creek, Mississippi and Michael and Debra Tucker of Thomasville; four grandchildren and their spouses, Gary and Amanda Tucker, Kim Gregory (Zeb Wiggins), Chris and Lauren Tucker and Kacey and Christy Tucker; and four great-grandchildren, Jason, Zach, Ava and Khy.
