Annie Lucille Carter Kilgore, age 82, died Monday, December 14, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born June 19, 1933 in Pontotoc, MS to the late Corbett Cain and Annie Inez Long. She worked as a seamstress for Rice Styx and later for Big Yank in Water Valley, MS. Annie was a faithful and active member of Springdale Family Worship Center in Water Valley. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed taking care of her family, sewing, quilting, crafting, cooking, flower gardening, fishing and going for rides around the lake. She adored her puppy, “C.C.”.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 18, 2015 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Raymond Aven and Bro. Larry Kilgore officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS with George Thomas Crocker, Donnie Crocker, Brandon Crocker, Lee Crocker, Chevy Crocker, Mark Ragon, Shannon McCoy, Clay McCoy, and Tyler McCoy serving as pallbearers.
Annie is survived by two daughters, Diann Crocker (Karl Walls) and Nancy (Dewey) Kelley of Tupelo, MS; her sons, Henry Leonard (Brenda) Kilgore, Jr. and Howard Dean Kilgore of Pope, MS; her grandchildren, Crystal Ann (Shannon) McCoy, George Thomas Crocker, Donnie (Tammy) Crocker, Jennifer Lynn Kilgore, Lauren Lea Kilgore and Georgia Elizabeth Kilgore; eleven great grandchildren, Julie Posey, Brandon Crocker, Kenneth Lee Crocker, Chevy Wayne Crocker, Destiny Crocker, Tyler McCoy, Gloria Dawn Crocker, Allison Brooke Crocker, Clay McCoy, Michael Edwards and Nicholas Edwards; and four great-great grandchildren, Natilie McCoy, Reed McCoy, Michael Elijah Posey and Michael Cameron Posey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Henry Leonard Kilgore, Sr.; her son-in-law, George Crocker; and her grandson, Jonathan Shane Kilgore.
