Age 92
Passed away on December 11, 2015
She was born to Alvin Webb and her beloved mother, Amanda Samuel Webb, at their farm near Elmwood, Wisconsin. The farmstead was given to her grandfather for service in the Civil War and passed down. She was called "Sister" by her three older brothers, James, Kermit and Carl. Their spouses, Myrtle, Ruth and Lorraine were like sisters. She was called "Aunt T" by her brothers' children and had a special fondness for niece Rosemary. Virginia met her husband, Donald Kemp, in Elmwood. They married after he served in World War II. They had three children, Scott, Alan and Kay and raised them in Roseville, Mn. Virginia worked for 23 years as the principal secretary of Physical Medicine at Ramsey Hospital. Don worked for Ford. Virginia was close to her mother-in-law, Mary, and her brother-in-laws and their spouses. Her son, Scott, died in a tragic accident in 1966. Don died in 1989. Later she found companionship with Leonard Schmitz. Her grandchildren, Jenna, Alex, Lindsay, Oriana and Vanessa, as well as seven great grandchildren were cherished. She was fond of her daughter-in-law, Lynda, and son-in-law, Winfried. She loved her Wisconsin and Minnesota families. She enjoyed swimming as a child in Cady Creek near Elmwood, pulling in walleyes on Lake Mille Lacs with Don and friends, and later traveling with Leonard. She was loved and will be missed. A memorial gathering will be held in the spring.
