Obituary

ACUSHNET — James A. Laycock Jr. “Giacomo,” 62, passed away on December 13, 2015. He was the loving husband of Anna (Lupo) Laycock and son of the late Olive and James Laycock.

Jim is survived by his son James A. Laycock III and his wife Ashley, his daughter Kristen Antonio and her husband Matthew as well as four adoring grandchildren, Natalie, Brice, Gabriella & Walter. Also, his brother-in-law Steve Lupo and his wife Diane as well as their son Michael Lupo, mother-in-law Maria Lupo and many relatives and close friends whom he cherished.

As a lifelong resident of Acushnet, Jim worked his entire life in the auto industry and cherished the time spent with his colleagues, many of whom became his best friends.

Jim loved coaching both of his children’s many A.Y.A.A. sports teams. He never missed a game, and made many lifelong friendships along the way. He was happiest being active outdoors with his family: exploring Cape Cod with his wife Anna, working on cars with his son Jimmy, laughing and playing with his princess Gabriella and daughter-in-law Ashley, boating with his daughter Kristen, fishing with his buddy Brice and son-in-law Matt, making baby Walter James and his granddaughter Natalie smile as well as taking long walks with his dog Sophie.

His funeral service will be held at Long Plain United Methodist Church, 1215 Main Street, Acushnet, MA on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 10am with calling hours held at the same location on Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 5-8pm.
