Jennie V. (Rashed) Assad, 94, passed away Sunday, evening December 13th, 2015 at Nevins Nursing Center, with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of the late Tufic J. Assad, who passed away in August of 2014 after sharing 74 years together.
Jennie was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Lawrence with her family as a young girl. She was an active member of St. Anthony Maronite Church in Lawrence.
She enjoyed being with her family for all events and loved preparing her Arabic meals for her family and friends. Jennie was a kind and loving soul who truly cared about everybody and will always be remembered for her sweet and gentle spirit.
Jennie leaves her son Gerald P. Assad of Plaistow; her daughter Marsha A. and her husband Robert Tartaglia of Boxford; grandchildren, Gerald P. Assad II, Grace Kelley, Jennifer Belanger, Glen Tartaglia and three great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 16th, 2015 at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Maronite Church 145 Amesbury St. Lawrence, MA. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass at the Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Methuen.
