Obituary

Mr. Philip P. Rose, of Taunton, died Sunday, December 13 in Morton Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Darlene I. (Pedini) Rose. He was born 72 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Alfred and Ruth (Marchant) Rose. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, Philip had been employed by the Taunton Sewer Department and, formerly, the Department of Parks and Recreation for 10 years. He was previously employed at Reed and Barton Silversmiths for many years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era. Philip was an avid New England Patriots fan, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandson.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 2 daughters: Amy Rose of Taunton, and Kimberly Carreiro and her husband, Cesar of Taunton; 4 brothers: Ronald Rose and his wife, Florence, Raymond Rose, David Rose and his wife, Anita, and Barry Rose all of Taunton; 5 sisters: Janice Labrecque of Berkley, Helen Pelletier of Taunton, Linda Coelho of Florida, Debra Faria and her companion, Edward Rose of Taunton, and Ruth Ann Rose of Taunton; 1 grandson: Colin Carreiro of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews. Philip was also the brother of the late Alfred, Gerald, and Thomas Rose, and brother-in-law of the late Edward Labrecque.
Visiting Hours will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, December 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
