Obituary

Violet M. (Pigeon) Lamontagne, 97, formerly of 866 Fifth Ave., Berlin, passed away on Saturday December 12, 2015 at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehab and Nursing Center in Berlin. She was born in Berlin on April 25, 1918 the daughter of Eugene and Annie (Crete) Pigeon and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Good Shepherd Parish.

Both she and her husband William were married on 6/28/37 and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary just three months prior to her husband’s death on 9/17/07. During that period, they raised two boys, Richard and Rene and celebrated the births and life of seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. They also enjoyed entertaining friends and family members in their home which always included a game of cards. The couple had a mobile home in New Smyrna Beach Florida where they spent a dozen winter seasons following their retirement. They also traveled to Europe to visit relatives in France and toured Switzerland and Italy and later traveled to Hawaii with friends. Once her boys were old enough, Violet was employed at Granite State Rubber Co., Royalty Inn in Gorham and St. Louis Hospital. She later resigned her position to take care of her elderly parents at their home in Berlin.

Family includes her sons Richard “Dick” Lamontagne and wife Sharon of Cumberland, RI and Rene Lamontagne and wife Priscilla of Goffstown, NH; grandchildren Shelly Beck, Wendy Campbell, Stacy St. Cyr, Jodi Lamontagne, Michael Lamontagne, Michelle Strout and Matthew Lamontagne; great-grandchildren Colman Lee, Jessica Felix Beck, Jackson Campbell, Corrine Campbell, Owen St. Cyr, Kyla St Cyr, Jasmine Lamontagne, Jonathan Lamontagne, Ava Strout, Brielle Lamontagne, Carson Lamontagne; brother Maurice Pigeon; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William Lamontagne and siblings Adrien Pigeon, Roger Pigeon, Marcel Pigeon, Mary Ann Bagley and Raymonde Fortier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 19, 2015 at 10 AM at Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Friday December 18 from 7 to 9 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Recreation Fund at St. Vincent de Paul Rehab and Nursing Center in Berlin.
