Arthur E. "Tick" Roderick, age 87 of East Taunton, died on Dec. 12, 2015 following a brief illness.
Arthur was predeceased in life by his wife, Barbara of 62 years.
Born in Foxborough, he was the son of the late Manuel Roderick and the late Wilomenia Teixeira.
A U.S Army Veteran of WWII, he served as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division.
Arthur played semi-pro football for the Taunton Herrings and was active in the Taunton Junior Football League.
He was retired from the Taunton Police Department and Servisco/General Work Clothes.
Arthur enjoyed his garden and fruit trees, along with spending time with his family.
Survivors include his three sons, Daniel (Ted) and his wife Patricia, Paul and Robert all of Taunton; four grandchildren Jariah, Taylor, Tiffany and Mackenzie; and his loving pets, Cha-Cha and Savannah.
He was the brother of Ernest Monteiro of Attleboro and Donna Monteiro of Foxborough, and also leaves his aunt, Rita Roderick of Harrisville, RI.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Dec. 16th at 8:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church, East Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 15th from 5 to 8 p.m.
