Orben Jeanette Horton, 83, of Manchester, NH, died Thursday December 10, 2015 in the Villa Crest Healthcare in Manchester. She was born in Elba, AL on February 8, 1932, a daughter of late Ottis and Nona (Capps) Willis, and had been a resident of Manchester since 2009, formerly living in Londonderry, NH. She taught Sunday School for the First Baptist Church of Lynn, MA and was very active in all Church activities. She had been a member of the Church of Jacksonville, FL where she had attended adult Bible Study. She enjoyed old Frank Sinatra records, old movies, playing games with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known for gaining the "upper hand" in games.
She is survived by three sons, Richard Horton of Londonderry, Thomas Horton and his wife Nancy of Lee, NH, and Robert Horton and his wife June of Lynn, MA; her grandchildren, Alex, Laura & Dwayne Horton, Jennifer Cox, Amy Frazier, and Emily Babineau; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Larue Mollenhour of Jacksonville, FL, and Pamela Nowatka of Banner Elk, NC; numerous nieces and nephews including her Godson Frank Horton; as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Friday, December 18th from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A memorial service will follow at 7pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
