Thorin Rokh Alderfer died peacefully in the arms of his loving parents on December 9, 2015 in the NICU at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born prematurely on July 20, 2015, Thorin was a little warrior - strong, feisty, brave, and daring.
He opened his eyes the day he was born and what he wasn’t yet able to express through words he did through his eyes. Thorin experienced holding hands, hugs and kisses, snuggles from mommy and daddy, listening to songs, and being told “I love you” countless times over the 142 days of his life.
Thorin lives on in our hearts and memories, and in the hearts and memories of all who were affected by his inherent strength and the invaluable journey we were able to share together.
He is loved and will be greatly missed by his mother and father, Crystal A. (Motyka) and Kenneth L. Alderfer; one sister and two brothers, Hannah Alderfer, Jacob Bagley, and Odin Alderfer; his maternal grandmother Patricia E. Poland; his paternal grandparents Ken R. Alderfer and Barbara E. English; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
