SOMERSET - Joan M. (Petres) Alves, age 77, of Somerset passed away on December 5, 2015. She was the wife of Roger Alves for 46 years and daughter of the late Peter and Mildred (Urban) Petres. Joan worked as a supervisor for Amica Insurance Co. for 36 years.
She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, helping people in any way that she could, and visiting her friends at the nursing home. She devoted her life to her family and was a caretaker to many family members.
The family would like to thank the staff of Charlton Memorial Hospital, Dr. Laxer and her staff as well as Somerset’s First Responders for their professionalism care and support.
Family and friends are invited to attend Joan’s Funeral Mass on Tuesday, Dec. 15th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Stanislaus Church, 36 Rockland St. Fall River. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
