Ruby Allene Brown Douglas, 92, of Omega passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015, at her residence. A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Douglas at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. A eulogy will be given by Ronald Downs.
Ronald Downs, William Downs, Russell Downs, Danny Taylor, B. F. Taylor and Robert Pylant will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 3, 1923 in Wetumpka, Florida, Mrs. Douglas was the daughter of the late Russie Clay Brown and Dolly Marshall Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl William Douglas; two sons, Ray Douglas and Louie Douglas; a daughter, Carol Douglas; three brothers, Monroe Brown, Robert Brown and Gene Brown; and three sisters, Idell Simpson, Marjanelle Gandy and Maybelle Croft. She was retired as a packer for a fruit company in Florida.
Mrs. Douglas is survived by one son, Ronald L. Douglas of Port St. Lucie, Florida; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary A. Douglas of Omega, Shirley and Bob Mauldin of Cottonwood, Alabama and Ruby E. and Ben Taylor of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; and 16 grandchildren.
