Obituary

Nadeen Elliot, 88, of Prosser, passed away on December 2, 2015 at Sheffield Manor Assisted Living Facility.
Nadeen was born in Arapahoe, Colorado to Charles and Lily Wilson on March 6, 1927. She was the fourth of six children to survive early childhood. The family moved to South Dakota in 1930, and to Adrian, Oregon, in 1940, where she grew up. She met Ken Elliot while in Adrian, and the two of them became sweethearts. After graduating from high school, Ken served in the Navy during World War II. Following the war, Nadeen attended the University of Oregon until she and Ken were married on August 22, 1948. Following Ken’s graduation from Oregon State University, they moved to Salem where daughter, Christie was born, then to Yakima where, son, Greg was born, and then to Prosser where son, Brad and daughters, Tamara and Kimberly were born.
Ken and Nadeen joined the Prosser Presbyterian Church in 1953, where they met their good friends Dorothy and Monte Shaffer. They were very active in the church where Ken was an elder, and Nadeen taught Sunday school for years. Together with Dorothy, Nadeen provided flower arrangements for the church every Sunday for over a decade. Over the next few years, Nadeen was a leader of Cub Scouts, Bluebirds, and 4-H.
In 1970, the family moved into a new house she and Ken designed. She and Ken lived there together for the next forty years.
Nadeen was a wonderful person and a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be sorely missed by her family, and all who knew and loved her, but we rejoice over her new life in Heaven and that she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Ken, and all of the loved ones who have gone before her.
She is survived by her children, Christie of Freeland, WA; Greg and his wife, Marin and their daughter, Piper of Agoura Hills, CA; Brad and his wife Liz, and their children, Maggie, Henry and Sam of Prosser; Tamara and her husband, Dennis Cotten of Sausalito, CA; and Kimberly of Belmont, CA. Nadeen lost Ken in 2008, a few months short of their 60th anniversary.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 12th at the Prosser Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 912 Yakima Avenue in Prosser. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paul Sampson Scholarship Fund in care of Prosser Funeral Home. You may leave a message for the family at www.prosserfuneralhome.com
