Londonderry, NH – Verna J. (Perreault) Tela, 66 of Londonderry, NH, passed away on Friday, December 04, 2015 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Verna was born in Salem, MA on November 14, 1949, the daughter of Joachim Perreault and Adrienne (Poitras) Perreault Mallon. She was educated in Salem, MA schools and graduated from Saint Joseph High School. For a short time she was a nun with an order in Worchester, MA. She then graduated from ITT Technical Institute. Later working in data entry at Wang Laboratories for 13 years and then at Malden Mills.
Verna loved animals and music deeply, she greatly enjoyed playing the piano, but she lived for her family and friends. Always putting others needs in front her own. Anyone who knew, Verna, would know that her proudest accomplishment in life was raising her two sons (Nicholas and Matthew). She also loved swimming, the outdoors, and most of all having her family together for cookouts and family dinners. Some of her best memories with her family were in Pawtuckaway State Park in Raymond, NH; York Beach, ME; the Salem Willows, and parts of Florida.
Verna will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 40 years John P. Tela; 2 sons, Sgt. Nicholas Tela and his wife, Alicia of Derry and Matthew Tela and his girlfriend, Erin Harris of Nashua; her sister, Gloria Densmore of Orlando, FL; her brother, Norman Perreault and his wife, Claire of Goffstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Verna’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 3 - 7 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9AM at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844 or to the American Red Cross of Massachusetts, 139 Main Street, Cambridge, MA 02142.
