Kappesser, Nina J. (Gentry), 81, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
She spent her life caring for others, leaving a legacy of compassion. Born in Franklin, Kentucky, Nina moved to Louisville to attend the Baptist Hospital Nursing School. She proudly worked as a Registered Nurse, retiring from Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. She was a member of St. James United Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Kenneth R. Kappesser; parents, Everett and Ernes Gentry; and brothers, Neal, Joseph, and Bill Gentry.
Survivors include her four children, Nancy Felker (Terry), Cindy Davis (Larry), Sally Kappesser and Ronnie Kappesser (Kim); ten grandchildren, Josh, Jesse, Morgan, Meredith, Erin, Amanda, Andrew, Kenny, Ashley and Norman; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
