MANCHESTER, NH – Miriam E. Kent, 96, of Essex Street, died Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Hanover Hill Healthcare Center in Manchester, NH.
She was born on August 2, 1919 in Franklin, NH, the daughter of the late Carl and Eva (Sanborn) Hanson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of sixty eight years, Donald Kent in 2010, as well as by one brother, Russell Hanson, one sister, Eleanor Strobel and one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Frances (Ricker) Kent. Miriam worked for a number of years as a teller for Quincy Trust. She and her husband were active members of Bethany Congregational Church in Quincy, MA, and then later at the Laconia Congregational Church in Laconia, NH.
She is survived by her three sons; Douglas Kent of Weymouth, MA, David Kent and his wife Pearl of Manchester, NH and Jeffrey Kent and his wife Margaret “Meg” of Weymouth, MA, one daughter, Nancy Cotter and her husband Edward “Ted” of Weymouth, MA and two grandchildren; Kristin Cotter of Dorchester, MA and Emily Kent of Weymouth, MA and nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Congregational Church of Laconia, 69 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of Laconia – Dorcas Fund, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, NH 03246.
