David Ray Wilson, 53, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Holt officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Wilson was born January 17, 1962, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to the late David Glenn Wilson and the late Nancy Jane Snider Wilson Senters. He was a self-employed roofer and worked as a machine operator at American Blanching. Mr. Wilson will be remembered for having a big heart, a trait that showed in the love he expressed to his wife and family, his pastor, and his co-workers. He was a hard worker who loved kids of all ages. He was affiliated with Higher Praise Apostolic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Gayle Smith Wilson of Fitzgerald; children: Jeremy Morgan Smith and Jesse Lee Smith, both of Fitzgerald, and Audrey Faith Allen & Jason and Lorena “Raina” Pittman & Obadiah, all of Irwinville; 15 grandchildren; two sisters: Tanya Gribble and Tina Marie Wilson; one brother, Larry Paul Gribble, all of Hawthorne, FL; two nieces: Channell Fountain and Samantha Hayward; two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
