Richard G. “Rick” Lincoln, Sr., age 75, of Norton passed away, after a short illness, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston on Friday, December 4, 2015 He was surrounded by his loving & devoted family. He was the beloved husband of Sheila (Smith) Lincoln for more than 56 years.
Born in Attleboro, MA on September 24, 1940, Rick was the son of the late William and Esther (Neuschuez) Lincoln. He grew up in North Attleboro, was a 1958 graduate of North Attleboro High school, and for the past 56 years had made his home in Norton.
Rick was a mild mannered man. He was described by his family, relatives, friends and business associates as a highly skilled craftsman and the “greatest guy”.
Rick was involved for many years in the garage door industry opening Eastern Garage Door of Norton,
in 1985.
An active man, he and his wife enjoyed many years rollerblading, bicycling and the beaches of Cape Cod and New Hampshire. He especially loved being the captain of his boat the “Me Vessel” which
was docked at the Bourne Marina, Buzzard Bay, MA. In his youth he was an avid hunter, enjoying many hunting trips with his brother and friends. He also was always a faithful fan of the Patriots!
In addition to his wife Sheila, he is survived by his cherished and loving children, son Richard G. Lincoln, Jr. and his wife Diane of Hendersonville, North Carolina; daughter Kimberley R. Lincoln and partner Lyn Keith of both Dartmouth & Westport. He was the brother of the late William Lincoln who passed away on November 12, 2015.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, December 9th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.), Norton.
At the request of his family, funeral services and burial will be held privately
