RAYNHAM – Antonio C. Leandres, husband of Maria (Pereira) Leandres, died at his Raynham home on Dec. 3, 2015.
He was 82.
Born in Santa Maria, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio and Maria de Jesus (Cabral) Sousa Leandres.
Mr. Leandres moved to the United States and settled in Hudson 1980.
He had also resided in Brockton and Taunton for several years before moving to Raynham in 1998.
A retired factory worker, he had been employed for many years by Pride Rite as an assembler.
In his spare time, Mr. Leandres enjoyed gardening and making wine.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he leaves 7 sons, Daniel and his wife Jennifer of Middleboro, Alfredo and his wife Jessica, David and his wife Dora, John and his wife Fatima, Louis and his wife Grace and Silvino and his wife Ednea, all of Taunton, and Manuel and his wife Ines of Hudson; 3 daughters, Zelia Torres and her husband Steve, Eliodora Goulart and Leonor Melo and her husband Manuel, all of Ontario, Canada; 2 brothers, Jose and Manuel Leandres, both of Hudson, 2 sisters, Maria Chaves of Taunton and Ines Borges and her husband Angelo of Florida; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Estefania Leandres.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Dec. 7th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church, 126 School St. Taunton at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 6th from 4 to 7 p.m.
