Joseph Tao Trotta of Narragansett, RI, a chef at Richard’s Pub for over 20 years, passed away December 1st at South County Hospital at the age of 45 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, he is a son of Peter and Judith Trotta of Narragansett, RI, brother of Patricia Marciano of Las Vegas, NV, Lynn Trotta of Wakefield, RI, Gerry Thalmann (Tom) of Wakefield, RI, Cheryl Trotta (Butch) of Narragansett, RI, Pamela Mikitsh (Tom) of Northhampton, PA, Peter Trotta (Tina) of Spokane, WA, and Alison Trotta (Joe) of Narragansett, RI. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.
Joe was a standard for strength, perseverance, hope, sheer determination and most important, putting others before himself. Not many people can stand up and say they have never hurt another human being—Joe can. He was the most gentle soul and yet a fierce competitor in soccer and baseball. He loved the ocean and sports (especially the Dallas Cowboys) and working at Richard’s Pub.
The family would like to thank everyone at Richard’s Pub, his second family, and his friends for their incredible outpouring of love and support.
There will be a Mass at 10:00 am on Monday, December 7th at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on 114 High Street, Wakefield, RI. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Home of the Little Wanderers, Development Department, 10 Guest Street, Boston, MA, would be greatly appreciated.
