Mrs. Olive (Dumont) Quimby passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 3, 2015, at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing home, where she had resided for the past year. She was born on July 19, 1921 in Milan, the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Gregoire) Dumont. A lifelong resident of Berlin, Olive attended St Regis Academy and graduated from Berlin High School in 1939. She married Irving W. Quimby in 1952. She was employed at the Brown Company as an executive assistant in the main headquarters office building for several years prior to her marriage. She was employed as a legal secretary in the Law Offices of Bergeron and Hansen later in her career as well.
Olive and her husband were very active in civic life in Berlin for many years. She was a long time co-chair of the Community Concerts organization, which brought musical and arts performers to Berlin. She was active in the Heart Association, helping to raise awareness and funding to reduce heart disease. Olive was also a talented singer and was a member of the St. Anne’s, and later St. Kieran's, church choirs, as well as a Brown company singing group. Olive also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and supported their efforts to assist veterans. Most notably, she was an avid bridge player and played weekly with local bridge groups, hosting monthly luncheon bridge events into her late 80’s.

Her husband preceded her in death, in 2002, as did three siblings: William (1944), Robert (1993) and Roger (2007). She is also survived by her brother Norman and his wife, Lorraine, of Berlin, and one aunt and several nieces and nephews.
