SPRINGFIELD – Jacqueline T. (Cooley) Everett, 84, of the Pine Point section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at West Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Springfield on November 4, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Everett R. and Grace M. (Templeman) Cooley. She was raised in Springfield, attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. During her leisure time, she was an avid bingo player and was often seen at many local bingo games. She was a wonderful mother to her large family and a “surrogate mother” to many of the neighborhood children. Most of all, she loved her family and many friends and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Robert W. Everett, Jr. who was Called Home on July 11, 2015.They were married on November 25, 1950 at the Cathedral of Saint Michael the Archangel in Springfield and were blessed with over 64 years of happiness together. She leaves her five loving children, Linda J. Duquette of Springfield, Wayne R. Everett and his wife, Kathleen, of Southampton, Robert R. Everett and his wife, Janet, of Springfield, Gary M. Everett and his wife, Crystal, of Springfield and Kimberlie G. Fortini and her husband, Norman, of West Springfield; her 12 cherished grandchildren and their spouses; her eight cherished great-grandchildren; her dear sister-in-law, Donna Cooley of Worthington, MA; her dear brother-in-law, Richard M. Everett and his wife, Carol, of Louisiana; her dear sister-in-law, Bernice Croteau of Springfield; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Everett and Cooley families. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving son-in-law, Roger P. “Duke” Duquette who was Called Home on July 11, 2013; her dear brother, Everett “Rusty” Cooley, Jr.; and her two dear sisters, Jean Heilig and Patricia Soffen. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday morning, December 9, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.). Her burial will be private at a later date for her family at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker Street, Springfield, MA 01129.
