Ola Juanita Willis Hand, 91, of Tifton passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Southern Care Assisted Living in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Chris Lockhart officiating. Mrs. Hand will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Hand’s grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 30, 1924 in Colquitt County, Mrs. Hand was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles W. Willis and Rilla Vaughn Willis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William D. “W. D.” Hand; two brothers, C. W. Willis and Bobby Willis; and four sisters, Louise Driggers, Lynette Hurst, Mary Deer and Martha Robinson. She was a homemaker and worked as a teacher’s aide and was a volunteer with the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Tift Regional Medical Center for over 30 years.
Mrs. Hand is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Dawn Hand of Tifton and Doug and Helen Hand of Douglasville; one daughter, Charlotte Lockhart of Villa Rica; one sister, Mattie Lou Akins; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Sonya Lockhart, Shannon Moon, Kevin Hand, Joey and Amber Hand, Erin and Adam Davis, Taylor Hand, Lucas Hand and Sam Hand; and eleven great-grandchildren, Victoria Moon, Will Moon, Shelby Moon, Gage Lockhart, Noelle Lockhart, Jeromie Hand, Reilly Hand, Emily Hand, Austin Hand, Olivia Davis and Logan Davis.
The Hand family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Southern Care Assisted Living in Tifton and to Hospice of Tiftarea for their exemplary care of Mrs. Hand.
