Obituary

Leona Emma Wagley, 95 years young, was called to her eternal resting place on December 1, 2015. She entered into this world on January 3, 1920 in Oak Grove, TX, born to Henry and Lola (Mehrens) Pachal.

She was married to Oliver Miles Wagley until his death in 1963.

She enrolled in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in August 21, 1942 and served her country until Aug 11, 1943.

Leona worked in the egg farm business for most of her life and didn't retire until she was 85. Leona loved animals and would never let a stray go hungry. She raised cattle and would walk the pastures daily to make sure they were all accounted for and ok. She loved gardening and had a green thumb and could grow anything. She enjoyed canning her fruits and her vegetables. She loved having her friends over for coffee and playing dominos. She had the sweetest disposition and was always smiling. She was the best mother-in-law and grandma anyone could ask for and this world will be a lot less shiny without her.

She was a member of the Trinity Church in New Bieleu and the Trinity Ladies Aide.

She is survived by her Daughter-in-law, Jeri Wagley of Weimar; Granddaughters, Tina Harbers and husband, Richard Harbers of Plum; Kristal Mosley Chitwood and husband, Tyler of Clovis, New Mexico; Great Grandchildren, Brett Harbers of Humble; Luke Schmidt, Kayley Schmidt, both of Clovis, New Mexico, Virginia Birmingham of Columbus; Great Great Granddaughter, Gracey Thornton of Clovis, New Mexico; Niece, Sandra Johnson and family of Bellville, nephew Jimmy Pachal and wife Darlene and family..

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Miles Wagley; son, Vernon; parents and her brother, Henry Pachal Jr.

Memorial Services to be held on Saturday, December 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Church in New Bielau.

Our family would like to thank Schulenburg Regency Nursing Home and Hospice of South Texas.
