G. Marion Evangelista passed away on November 28, 2015, one week after she celebrated her 80th birthday. She was born in Worcester, MA, to Erik and Esther (Werme) Broquist, and grew up in Greendale. She attended Girls' Trade and graduated from North High School. She was a proofreader at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for many years when the position was eliminated due to technology. Marion was a home health aide and nanny to several area families, caring for the elderly until she was elderly herself. Marion was best known for her avid astrologic knowledge and skilled palm reading. She loved the beach, visits to Florida and a good round of Keno. She took great pride in her home décor and was always dressed to the "nines." Marion loved music of all genres and was a great dancer. She was an excellent cook and hosted wonderful parties. Her recipes are loved by many.
She leaves three daughters, Luanne Carroll of Sutton, Lucinda Solitro Vaudreuil of Worcester, and Maria Evangelista of Lake Worth, FL. She was "Gram, Mormor and GiGi" to seven grandchildren, Jessica, Vanessa, Cathryn, Danielle, Michael, Roxanne and Veronica, and seven great grandchildren, Nicholas, Anthony, Ava, Austin, Antonia, Mia and Cian and many blended family members, and the favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister, Norma Bradford, her former husband, Vincent Evangelista, and her caretaker, Scarlette Florian. She is predeceased by her siblings, Donald and David Broquist and Betty Long, and her "gentleman friend," of 20 years, Anthony Boffoli.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Veteran's Inc.
