Obituary

ADAMS, ANTHONY T., 78, of Windsor Condominiums, 23 School St., Westerly, RI, died Saturday, June 4, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a patient at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, which is associated with Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island.

Anthony was the husband of Lena (Talarico) Adams for 55 years. Born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Stephen and Bridget (Catanzaro) Adams.

Mr. Adams was a former owner of a Montgomery Ward franchise store in Carbondale and was also formerly employed at Affiliated Foods in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union as well as a fourth degree Knight of Columbus.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and John N. Conti of Westerly; a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony S. and April Adams of Nashua, NH; five grandchildren, Cynthia, Amanda, and Caroline Conti and Kristen and Kelci Adams.

Even though “Tony” never held a political office, his passion was politics. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting in his recliner watching political programs on various cable news networks, all the while offering his own “insightful” commentary.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael The Archangel Church in Pawcatuck, CT., on Tuesday, June 7 at 10:00a.m. Internment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Pawcatuck.

The family has chosen The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., Mystic, CT to assist them with the arrangements.
