Obituary

Dorothy M. (Buckman) Dumas, 98, of Sweden, Maine, formerly of Walpole died peacefully, November 29 in her home surrounded by her devoted family. She was the wife of the late James A. Dumas.
Born in Walpole, March 26, 1917, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Marie (Ott) Buckman, Mrs. Dumas had lived in Walpole for all her life prior to moving to Sweden seven years ago.
She had attended Walpole schools and along with her late husband had owned and operated the Dumas Taxi Company in Walpole for many years.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, cooking, game shows and crocheting.
Most of all she loved being with her family.
She is survived by her children, Beatrice Bonneau of Plainville, Dorothy Loring of Sweden, Maine and Susan Edwards of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was the mother of the late Jeanette Driscoll and James A. Dumas, Jr.
She is also survived by her sister Edna Buckley of Walpole and her 22 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, December, 4 in the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole at Noon.
Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
Visitation will be on Friday from 10-00 until Noon.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Diabetes Association 1701 N. Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
