Obituary

Latdavanh Vongphakdy, 47, of Woonsocket died Sunday morning at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved fiancée of Daniel M. Mark.
Born in Vientiane, Laos she was a daughter of Soubanh and Bouaveng Vongphakdy. She came to the United States as a child and lived in Connecticut for several years. She was a resident of Woonsocket for over 25 years.
She was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and later earned her degree from Community College of Rhode Island.
Latdavanh was employed at Thermo Fisher Scientific Corporation for over 25 years.
Latdavanh enjoyed traveling (especially cruises) and gardening. She was a very sociable person. She loved parties and any gatherings that brought her family and friends together to share in fun times. Latdavanh was usually right in the middle of those good times.
She is survived by two brothers Chantdah and Pathakon and four sisters Phetsavanh, Vanratry, Syamphan and Khamla and her extended family and many friends.
Her funeral services will begin Saturday at 8:00 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. The funeral procession will then proceed to Swan Point Cemetery on Blackstone Blvd. in Providence. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-9 pm.
