Robert Edward Nichols, Jr., age 84, died in Boston at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital on Nov. 28, 2015 following a long illness. He was husband of the late Marie Elizabeth (Vezina) Nichols of Kingston. Born in Plymouth, MA on Dec. 13, 1930, he was son of the late Robert E. and Doris Louise (Crowell) Nichols, Sr. He was educated in Plymouth and had worked for most of his life as a self-employed carpenter. For several years he had worked as a Union Carpenter and also as a Dog Officer for the Town of Kingston for 18 years. He was an avid pet lover and enjoyed boating and enjoying time with his family as a few of his favorite past times. Robert was the loving father of Katherine A. Miranda and her husband Richard of Plymouth, Doris Nichols Brown of Plymouth and her late husband Bruce R. Brown, Jr., Robert E. Nichols, II and his partner Cheryl Wadsworth of Kingston and Steven P. Nichols and his wife Debra of Plymouth. He was the beloved brother of David L. Nichols of Kingston, Marilyn Santos of Plymouth, and was predeceased by his brothers Paul and John Nichols of Plymouth. He was the cherished grandfather of 6, great-grandfather of 11 and great-great-grandfather of 4. Visiting hours will take place on Friday, Dec 4th in the Davis Funeral & Cremation Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Davis Funeral & Cremation Home on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Plymouth.
