Laconia-----Jennie Tsakiris 88, longtime resident of the Lakes Region, died peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at her home.
Jennie was born April 13, 1927 in Peabody, Massachusetts, daughter to the late Peter and Stella (Mellotis) Stratis. She moved to the Lakes Region in 1947 to follow her husband and join her new families restaurant business, the Blue Willow where she worked for many years before pursuing her career in Real Estate. She later joined Aldrich Real Estate, were her career spanned more than 20 years before retiring.
Jennie enjoyed fishing and boating, porting out of Beverly Harbor with her sisters. She was also an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. Jennie was an active member in the Taxiarchai Greek Orthodox Church and adored cooking for her family. She will be remember most for her delicious traditional Greek baked treats and most importantly spending time with her loving family.
Jennie is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Peter Tsakiris of Laconia, two sons, John Tsakiris and his wife, Marilyn of Laconia and Christopher Tsakiris and his significant other Maria Armano of Laconia, a Daughter, Maria Baumeister and her husband Robert of Gilford; two sisters, Helen Filtraniti of Beverly, MA and Tina Bouchard of Peabody, MA; two grandchildren, Nicholas Tsakiris and Stephan Tsakiris both of Laconia, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her two brothers, Othan Stratis and William Stratis, and her sister Agnes McMahon.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 5pm-7pm at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House Entrance.
A Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 10:30am at Taxiarchai Greek Orthodox Church, 811 North Main Street, Laconia, NH.
Burial will be private.
