John Gordon, Jr., 84, of New Bedford died November 29, 2015 at Sacred Heart Home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late V. Juliette (Morris) Gordon.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late John F. and Mary (Albert) Gordon, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Gordon was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
He was formerly employed by Universal Industries for 32 years before retiring as supervisor.
Mr. Gordon was a charter member of the Whaling City Golf Course. He enjoyed going to breakfast with his friends Paul and Barry.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Guerra of Mansfield; 2 brothers, Robert Gordon and his wife Barbara of New Bedford and James Gordon and his wife Debby of Dartmouth; 2 sisters, Ellen Sylvia and her husband Jack of New Bedford and Joyce Gordon of Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren, Nicole Coon and her husband Brendan, Matthew Guerra, Crystal Costa and Caitlyn Gordon; 3 great-grandchildren, Ryan Costa, Jr., Caliana Costa and Otis Coon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Patrick Gordon and the brother of the late Patricia Cravinho.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 7th at 10 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
