Susan Marie Gallagher, 38, a resident of Olyphant, died Friday at Moses Taylor Hospital after a two-year battle with cervical cancer. She was the wife of Jerry Gallagher.
Born in Scranton, daughter of Steve and Mary Gavala, she was a graduate of Scranton High School. She was employed at Dunkin' Donuts, where she was loved by her coworkers and customers.
Susan always put others first and was very proud of her family. She was a loving and caring person who had a positive outlook on life, loved to laugh and was known for her cooking, love of music and annual pumpkin-carving contest.
Susan enjoyed spending quality time with her family, having movie or television nights. She was an avid fan of "I Love Lucy." She enjoyed scrap booking, reading and relaxing at the beach on family vacations. She will sadly be missed by all.
Also surviving are her two daughters, Ashley and Katelin; a maternal uncle, Bob Wagner; and several cousins.
She is preceded in death by her aunt, Ann Wagner of Scranton.
Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in Mary Mother of God Parish, Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant.
