Obituary

WESTFIELD – Lorraine D. (Dupre) Dupee, 87, of Westfield, was Called Safely Home on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Mount Saint Vincent Care Center in Holyoke. She was born in Saint Bernard de la Colle, P.Q., Canada on June 6, 1928, a beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Amanda (Parent) Dupre. She was raised in Champlain, New York, where she met her husband, Ernie. They moved to North Adams, then settled in Westfield in 1960 where they raised their family. She enjoyed baking, reading, and embroidering many pillow cases that will be cherished by family members and friends. She was a life member of the Little River Marine Corps League Auxiliary and a former communicant of Saint Peter Church, both in Westfield. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee where she was a member of the Saint Anne Sodality Guild. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Ernest M. Dupee who was Called Home on April 20, 2013. They were married on May 10, 1947 at Saint Mary Church in Champlain, New York and were blessed with over 65 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving children, Michael Dupee of Michigan, Duane Dupee of Westfield, Brian Dupee and his wife, Lynn, of Easthampton, Clyde Dupee and his companion, Denise Hills-McGarry, of West Springfield, and Catherine Sabat and her husband, Matthew, of Chicopee; her six cherished grandchildren, Shawn Dupee, Brandy and Cassy Dupee, and the triplets: Julia, Matthew, Jr. and Corinne Sabat; her great grandson, Shawn Patrick Dupee, Jr.; her dear sister, Gertrude Wright of North Adams; her dear brother, Fernand “Jimmie” Dupre of Watertown, NY; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her beloved daughter, Madelyn C. Dupee who was Called Home on September 3, 1997; her two dear sisters, Gertrude Dupre and Doris Guay; and her dear brother, Roger Dupre. Her family would like to thank the staff at Mount Saint Vincent Care Center for the care and compassion that they gave to Lorraine. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning,December 4, 2015, beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Mary Cemetery, 203 Southampton Road, Westfield, MA 01085. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
