Charles F. “Chuck” Leary, Jr. age 79 of Canton passed away November 29th at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norwood, he was a lifelong resident of Canton and graduated from Canton High School and received his Associates in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University. He was a member of the Canton Police Department for 32 years retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Canton Police Pistol League and took part in the SWAT training for the department as well. He was a member of the Canton Town Club, and was an avid golfer who played every Monday in the Town Club League at Wampatuk Country Club in Canton. Chuck also played in the men’s over 30 softball league for many years. After retiring he worked with the grounds crew at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton for several years. Beloved husband of Louise A. (McKay). Father of Linda S. Merrill and her husband Christopher of Holbrook, Kara L. Leary of Franklin, Charles F. Leary III and his wife Anita of Foxboro. Grandfather of Chandra Febonio and her husband John, Cory Merrill, Shayla Merrill, Charles(Bud)and Patrick Findlen. Brother of Paul Leary of W.V., Mary Ellen O’Leary of FL, Clement Leary and his wife Ann of Stoughton, Nancy Pagels and her husband Ronnie of E. Bridgewater, Mark Leary and his wife Gayle of Natick and Frances Leary of S. Dennis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
