NATICK: Robert J. “Bob” Vercelli, 81, died peacefully surrounded by his family at his residence in Natick on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.
He was born in Joliet, Illinois on May 17, 1934 the son of the late Giovanni L. Vercelli and Mary (Heck) Vercelli.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife Janet M. (Bianco) Vercelli of Natick. Loving father of Edward P. Vercelli; Toni Hanna; Suzanne D’Alessandro; Ginger Thomas; Jack Vercelli and Laura Enright. Brother of Edward F. Vercelli and Lorraine Evans both of Illinois. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Bob has been a resident of Natick for the past 48 years and has been a communicant, with his wife Janet, at Saint Zepherin’s Church for many years. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and retired from Martin Marietta in Syracuse, NY. During his career, he was acknowledged on many occasions with several RAVE awards from GE for self-motivation and excelling in the advancement of projects completed in a productive manner. He served his country as an S/SGT with the United States Air Force.
Among his many interests and hobbies were raising Birmingham Rollers, a breed of pigeons, stamp and coin-collecting and family genealogy. He was devoted to his wife and children and will be greatly missed by them, his grandchildren and friends.
Visitations will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 9:00 am followed by his Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at Saint Zepherin’s Church, 99 Main Street (Rte 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in St. Zepherin’s Parish Cemetery, Bent Ave., Wayland.
