Obituary

Lamar Long, 66, of Yulee passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in St. Marys, GA.
He was born November 11, 1949 in Fernandina Beach. Mr. Long was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the U. S. Army. He received the Purple Heart Medal for combat wounds.
He loved spending time outdoors, hunting and hanging out with his friends at the hunting camp and was greatly loved by his family.
Mr. Long was predeceased by his father, Leleon Long.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Marie Long of Yulee, FL; a daughter, Kelsey Long (Ryan Teston)of Yulee; step daughter, Jennifer Carlisle (Curtiss), also of Yulee; a step son, Josh Goodin (Ammie) of Callahan, FL; his mother, Melba Rowe of Yulee; one brother, Wayne Long, also of Yulee; five grandchildren, Curtiss Carlisle, Kerri Carlisle, Caleb Goodin, Clay Gooding and Emalee Goodin; two great grandchildren, Aubree and Jaxon Carlisle; two nephews, David Long and Michael Hester; and a niece, Annette Bowers.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, December 1, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home. Interment with military honors presented by the United States Army will follow in Green Pine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
