Obituary

Edward Albin, 77, of Hooksett, died peacefully at Community Hospice House of Merrimack on November 19, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Edward was born at home on his family farm in Hooksett February 10, 1938, the son of Joseph and Sophie (Jarosz) Albin. He was educated in Hooksett and was a lifelong resident of the town. He worked for many years for G L Fields Asphalt Paving and then became an independent trucker for Manchester Sand & Gravel until retiring in 1999.
In his younger years, he enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and working on his vehicles with the help of his children. His yard on Jacob Ave was always filled with roses and marigolds. He took great pride in having a “green thumb”. After retiring, he lost his central vision to macular degeneration. He was still able to work in his yard and garden. He always had an abundance of vegetables to share. He sold his “celebrity” tomatoes and perennials flowers to local vendors. He was very loving, kind and giving man, and always loved to give advice to his family and friends. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
The family includes his wife of 30 years, Claire (Boisvert) (Fields) Albin of Hooksett; two daughters, Tammy Petroski and Brenda Albin of Hooksett; two stepsons, Ryan and Eric Fields of Hooksett; two grandchildren, Jessica and Anthony Petroski of Hooksett; one great grandson, Gavin Osborne of Hooksett; two step grandchildren, Mandy and Derik Fields, and Mandy’s two children; the mother of Edward’s children, Nancy Quimby of Stark; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings and was the last survivor out of thirteen children and also predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan Albin in 2007.
