Fall River - Lucy (Machado) Oliveira, 85, of Fall River, formerly of Westport died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Louis V. Oliveira.
Mrs. Oliveira was born in Fall River, daughter of the late John A. Machado, Sr. and the late Maria (Cabral) Machado, and had resided in Westport for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she was a seamstress for Merit Dress Company, Fall River for 30 years. She was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport. She was a member of the International Order of Lady Garment Workers.
She is survived by 2 grandchildren: Jason R. Oliveira of Westport and Robin M. Watts of Westport; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Robert V. Oliveira and the sister of the late George Machado, David Machado, John Machado, Joseph Machado, Alice Machado and Laurina Hart.
Funeral services were private.
