Obituary

Joyce A. (McCormack) Noury, 78, of Manchester died June 1, 2005 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home after a long illness.

Born in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada on September 17, 1926, she was the daughter of Edward and Edna (Keetch) McCormack. She lived in Manchester most of her life.

She was a graduate of West High School, Elliot Hospital Nursing Cadet Corps Program and St. Anselm College School of Nursing.

Mrs. Noury worked as a registered nurse for 40 years. She worked at the Elliot Hospital as a nursing supervisor and at the offices of Dr. Donald Cusson and Dr. Sergio Arambulo. She had also worked as a private duty nurse.

She was a former communicant of St. Raphael Church and had been a member of the Woman’s Guild at that parish. She later was a communicant of St. Catherine Church and was a member of its adult choir.

Mrs. Noury was a member of the Quilter’s Guild and the Elliot Hospital Alumni Association.

The family includes her husband of 51 years, Robert J. Noury of Manchester; four children, Robin N. Hogan of Holderness, Jeffrey S. Noury of Manchester, Bonnie J. Noury of Londonderry and Susan N. Jodoin of Hooksett; eight grandchildren; a sister, Alice M. Conway of Bedford; cousins, nieces and nephews.

IN HER LIFE: She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, knitting and painting. She also enjoyed gardening, swimming, hiking and playing cards. She was a loving wife and mother and a very caring person to her patients and friends. She was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday June 6, 2005 in St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
