John J. Goff Sr. age 98 of Milton passed away November 10that home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, he was raised in Forest Hills and graduated from Boston English High School. He was an Army Veteran WW II serving in the N. African and Italian Campaign’s and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. John worked for 43 years for Boston Gas Co. retiring in 1983 as the Superintendent of Purchasing. He was the Former Financial Secretary of the United Steel Local #12003 and United Miners Local, Past President of the Boston Gas. Co. Credit Union, Past President of the Quarter Century Club of Boston Gas, member of the American Society of Gas Engineers, member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3049 and Roberts American Legion Post # 78. Beloved husband of the late Rita M. (Murphy). Devoted father of John J. Jr. and his wife Elaine of Hanover and James J. of Milton. Loving grandfather of John W. and his wife Jennifer of ME, James J. and his wife Kelly of Pembroke and Richard P. and his wife Julie of Chelmsford. Great grandfather of John, Jacob, Elizabeth, Allison and Jamie Goff. Brother of the late Philip Goff and Margaret Clougher. Funeral mass at St. Mary of the Hills Church Milton Monday morning at 10. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Sunday 3-7 pm. Burial Milton Cemetery.
