Manuel "Manny" Viveiros, Jr., 83, of Fall River, died suddenly on Sunday November 15, 2015 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Claire (Marchand) Viveiros, son of the late Manuel and Rose (Ferreira) Viveiros, father of the late Roger E. Viveiros, and brother of the late Shirley Viveiros.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Sandra M. Viveiros-Lopes of New Bedford who was his primary care person for the past several years; his grandson, Edward Manuel Pacheco and his wife Kristine of Dartmouth; his granddaughter, Delilah Edmonds Viveiros of Dartmouth; and four great-granddaughters whom he loved immensely and brought him great joy, Kayla Wesoly of Fairhaven, and Ashley Pacheco, Katelyn Pacheco and Marissa Pacheco, all of Dartmouth.
Mr. Viveiros was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War era. In his years working, he was a welder, a former President of the Welder's Union in Taunton, and before his retirement he was a foreman for Gold Seal Welding in Fall River.
He enjoyed music, particularly Johnny Cash, and played the harmonica. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and playing pool.
His Graveside Service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours are omitted. A celebration of his life will be held for friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the nearest veterans organization of your choice in Manny's honor.
